The 21-year-old from Bruchsal got her crown during the May 1st final, after beating her eleven competitors. The organizers promised her a jet-set year with many VIP events plus the keys to a brand new Nissan Micra. Why do they pick such boring cars?
“I did not expect the victory; I had a different favorite in mind. When the victorious number was proclaimed, I could hardly believe it. I’m still trembling all over my body,” she said.
The 2018 calendar shoot with Playboy photographer Andreas Reiter took place in the romantic Italian province of Pescara on the country’s Adriatic coast.
Among the cars selected, we see an earlier generation of the VW Polo. Its cute, bubbly shape is accentuated by yellow paint, lowered suspension, and 3-piece wheels. We also get to see the first generation of the MINI Clubman, fitted with a giant carbon hood, golden PUR wheels, and crazy camber. You’re never going to see another car like it in Venice.
The Spanish brand SEAT was also represented by the Mk1 Leon and the recently discontinued Ibiza SC. But to be honest, our favorite shot shows Vanessa on the wooden decking of a luxury Venice water taxi. She looks as sexy as a Peroni beer commercial!
However, her favorite car is a MINI with crazy outboard wheels and a bright red paintjob. It looks like a European version of a hot rod, so we get the appeal. She also seems excited about posing with a cross motorcycle as Vanessa is passionate about riding. This is the calendar’s 15th anniversary, and we can’t wait to see what they do next year.
