You can rewatch It: Chapter One on Dec. 19! Here’s what you need to know about the home video release of It…
It: Chapter One, the first part of a two-part adaptation of the novel by Stephen King, lit the world on fire. Not only is it one of those rare, high-quality horror blockbusters, it’s one of the best adaptations of King’s work ever made. Much of that has to do with the young actors who made up the Losers’ Club, the group of heroes who have to face Pennywise the Clown in the sewers of Derry, Maine.
The film made $683.4 million at the global box office, making it the most successful horror movie of all time. It probably won’t surprise you that It: Chapter Two is already in development and has been set for a Sept. 6, 2019 release date. Andy Muschietti will return to direct this sequel. The young Losers’ Club is also expected to return in flashback sequences, while cast announcements for the adult Losers are expected soon. We’re looking very much forward to it!
Until then, It: Chapter One is hitting home video in the next few weeks. The movie will release digitally on Dec. 19. It will drop on Blu-ray and DVD on Jan. 9.
We spoke to Bill Skarsgard, who plays Pennywise in both films, what it was like transforming into the killer clown. Check out a video of the interview below:
