Nottinghamshire Police has released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to following a robbery and an attempted robbery in the Arboretum area of Nottingham.

The Police are appealing for witnesses and information for two incidents which they believe are linked.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “On Monday, November 13, a man was walking along North Sherwood Street at around 10pm when two men threatened him with a knife and asked for his phone and wallet. The 22-year-old man then managed to run away.

“One of the men was described as Asian, around 5ft 6ins and was wearing a black hoodie and dark coloured joggers.

“The second man was tall, skinny and had his face covered. Both men are believed to have fled the scene in a dark coloured Volkswagen.”

Officers are linking this incident to a similar one that happened on the same street on Thursday November 9.

The police spokesman added: “A man was threatened under similar circumstances by one man and then taken to a cash point in Mansfield Road and asked to withdraw money.

“The cashpoint was out of service so the offender took the victim’s Samsung Galaxy Edge mobile phone, wallet and two bank cards before fleeing the scene.

“Following the incident a withdrawal was made from the victim’s bank account.

“The suspect is described as an Asian, about 25-years-old, around 5ft 10ins tall and is of medium build. He was wearing a black and white bandana and a cap.”

Anyone with any information about either incident is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 903 of November 13 2017, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
