Magpies ace will miss Cheltenham clash through suspension
Elliott Hewitt has expressed his disappointment at picking up a fifth yellow card that will rule him out of Notts County’s clash against Cheltenham this weekend.
The midfielder was cautioned during the 1-1 draw against Stevenage at the weekend which tarnished a fine performance in which he scored a fabulous equaliser.
Hewitt will now serve a one-match ban which means he will miss the visit of the Robins, with Rob Milsom, Liam Walker and Curtis Thompson all vying to take his place.
And the former Ipswich Town player said he was frustrated with himself given he is on an excellent run of form in the heart of the Magpies’ midfield.
“I was gutted to get a fifth yellow and it was a bit stupid from me,” he said.
“I thought it was a bad challenge from one of their players.
“I turned around and asked for a free-kick but the referee booked me.
“I am very disappointed on my behalf because I wasn’t the only who did it in the game either.
“But it was me who picked up the yellow and that’s football.”
