A man is dead after a violent road rage confrontation in Brooklyn Thursday night.
CBS New York reports it happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Third Avenue and 67th Street in Bay Ridge.
A driver is in custody after police say what began as a minor auto crash ended with a 65-year-old man being struck and killed by a van in Brooklyn.
An apparent case of road rage sparked by a fender bender resulted in the death of a driver who was dragged for blocks by another vehicle in Brooklyn, police said late Thursday. As he took off, he struck Mardaknayevy, dragging him two blocks to 67th Street and Third Avenue, police said.
The men got into a dispute, and the driver of the van got back into his vehicle and tried to take off.
The driver was taken into custody at the scene and charges are pending, police said.
The driver was being questioned at the scene, police said.
The 65-year-old, identified as Brooklyn resident Gavriel Mardaknayevy, was taken to Lutheran Medical Center for treatment, but was pronounced dead on arrival, police said. PIX11 has reached out to the company for comment.
