The John Lewis advert has been revealed and fans are already clamouring to get their hands on one item.
The starry night-light gifted to Joe, the young boy who meets a monster under his bed, has proved a hit with parents.
Priced at £15 here, the globe night light sends a star pattern onto the walls of the child’s bedroom and John Lewis has restricted sales to one per customer due to expected demand.
And almost instantly the item has gone out of stock.
The John Lewis Christmas advert is an annual event and the retailer often uses it as a way to showcase individual items.
Monster Moz, the star of the advert, is also for sale in the shape of a sock-wearing cuddly toy priced at £20 but it is the night lamp that has captured the nation’s attention.
One fan suggested the lamp would be perfect for her autistic son.
But fans are finding the light hard to come by
The 2017 John Lewis advert
The 2017 advert centres around a seven-year-old boy called Joe and his imaginary monster Moz who lives under the bed.
The two-minute advert is set to a cover to The Beatles song Golden Slumbers by Manchester band Elbow.
After keeping Joe up playing all night, Moz leaves a thoughtful – but badly-wrapped – present for the youngster. It turns out to be star globe night lamp so that Joe can get some peace and quiet.
With the monster now gone, Joe realises he can bring him back just by thinking about him in the tear-jerking advert.
The sale of Moz as a cuddly toy is not the first time John Lewis has sold the loveable characters from its adverts.
