Child’s family, Section 27 to sue government after pit toilet drowning

JOHANNESBURG – The family of a five-year-old boy who died at a school in Limpopo is seeking justice.

Michael Komape fell into a pit toilet at Mahlodumela Primary School in Chebeng Village in January 2014.

Now his family is suing the national and provincial education departments.

They’re demanding a substantial amount in civil damages.

The high court in Polokwane will hear the arguments on Monday.

Komape’s parents also want the court to compel the state to supply decent sanitation at schools across Limpopo.
