Alberto Moreno makes accusation about Jurgen Klopp that will anger boss

When quizzed about his relationship with the German, Moreno told Marca: “It has been odd”.

Moreno spent most of last season out of the side with James Milner getting the nod at left-back instead. When I saw that a right-footed midfielder like Milner was the left-back, I thought something was happening.

That work appears to have paid off with Milner returning to midfield duty Moreno has started nine of the 11 games so far this season putting his stamp on the left-back position.

‘He didn’t give me explanations.

Liverpool signed Andrew Robertson in the summer but Moreno didn’t see the arrival of the Scotland worldwide as a cue to leave Anfield.

Liverpool, though, have struggled in defence this season and have already conceded 21 times in the Premier League this term. “It allowed me to isolate myself from what was happening”.

“He told me that the team was fine, that it was true, that he should continue working”. I did, but the opportunity didn’t come. “I went to talk to him five or six times and the message was the same… but nothing changed”.

“There came a point where I trained, looked around and knew that no matter what I did, they were not going to play me”.

Perhaps wanting to brighten things up a little, Marca asked Moreno how his relationship with Klopp is now: “It’s a different relationship”. He’s helping me a lot, he corrects me and I think it shows, ‘ he said.

“I spoke to [Jurgen] Klopp, he told me that he could not promise me anything, to work, and that they were going to a sign a number three”. He even speaks to me in Spanish sometimes. I spoke to my people and they told me to work, to start from scratch and then we’ll see.
